Good local restaurans

 

Being in Zadar it is worth visiting and experimenting with new cuisine. Zadar is full of monuments, churches and museums. In addition to the site seeing there are also a wide variety restaurants to enjoy. During a break from sightseeing, it is worth trying the 'Bistro Pjat' restaurant which is located on the small charming street Stomorica. With a few tables outside and a warm atmosphere inside Pjat is reminiscent of a Dalmatian konoba (tavern). It’s the perfect place for lunch or dinner.

 

  

 

We recommend to start with a cheese and meat charcuterie board served with onion jam and olive oil, accompanied with a glass or two of wine.  Yummy! Following your appetizer of which there are many to choose from Pjat has a wide variety of main course selections - delicious pastas, risotto, fish and meat dishes... In addition to the standard menu on daily menu board you will find dishes which are prepared every day for people working in old town Zadar and who often come here just for lunch. You will be eating like the locals with the locals paying the local prices. Lunch consists of soup of the day, main course with salad. Set price from 12 euros and up.  A daily menu board example would be:

ravioli with cottage cheese and shrimps

Konoba RAFAELO

 

Another good resturant too dine at is Konoba Rafaelo is farm to table family style BBQ restaurant in ZADAR. It’s ambience is a reflection of the Dalmatian konoba culture. Just a 3 km drive from the city center, with a casual dining experience alongside quick and friendly service. For decades, meat lovers have known it to be the best barbecue destination in the city. They are known for their plentiful portions – don’t worry, you won’t leave hungry. The house specialty is Rafaelos meat platter with grilled veggies, hand cut French fries accompanied with mushroom cream sauce.  Their breaded and fried chicken cutlets are a fan favorite as well.  On the menu you will find a selection of pastas that will go nicely with any of the meat dishes.
